Forecast (Japanese: てんきや) is an ability in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Team.
Effects in dungeons
It changes the Ability user's type depending on the weather.
- Under the influence of sunny weather, the Pokémon's type changes to Fire-Type.
- Under the influence of rain or fog, the Pokémon becomes a Water-Type.
- Under the influence of hail (or snow), the Pokémon becomes an Ice-Type.
If there is any other weather (Clear, Cloudy, or Sandstorm), The Pokémon's typing is unaffected.

Castform (which has Forecast as its ability) under the effects of rain.
Castform is the only Pokémon that has this ability, however, it can also be acquired by other Pokémon through the ability Trace.
Trivia
- Forecast can also be activated during cutscenes with dialogue (as long as they are programmed to change the weather). An example of this can be when you fight Articuno (character) after finishing the main story.
- However, in this case, Forecast will proceed to deactivate as the weather during the battle is programmed to be "Clear".
