Paolo (Japanese: ポポロ, Popolo) is a character in the Dragon Quest Mystery Dungeon series. His first appearance in a Mystery Dungeon title was in Torneko's Great Adventure, which was his second Dragon Quest appearance. His first Dragon Quest appearance was in Dragon Quest Ⅳ: Chapters of the Chosen. He's a playable character in Template:Torneko3.
Paolo appears as a young boy with traits of his father shared to him, notably his hairs tainted in blue, but also thinner than the latter. In Template:Torneko3, Paolo would grow up to his twelfth birthday and appears with the same clothes as Torneko's, though their placement are swapped. Sometimes, he can be seen wearing claws as they are his main weapons to attack enemies.
Though he was introduced in Dragon Quest Ⅳ, the player knows little about his life and personality in the game's entire story. It would be in Torneko's own spin-off games that the player would discover what happened to him and his family after the event of the aforementioned game. In Dragon Quest Characters: Torneko's Great Adventure 3: Mystery Dungeon, Paolo would obtain a more important role as he becomes the second protagonist of the game's plot.

Paolo is known to appear in numerous Dragon Quest mainline and spin-off games. Unlike Torneko, there are references between him and the Mystery Dungeon franchise in other media.
In Dragon Quest Rivals Ace, Paolo appears in the game's third card pack, "Starry Battle".[1] His appearance is retrieved from Torneko's Great Adventure 3.[2]
