What are Rescues?
Rescues are a gameplay element exclusive to the Template:Shiren3 of Shiren 3, when you die on an adventure, you have the choice of being rescued, allowing you to pick off where you left off with everything intact, instead of starting all over again with nothing left. The number of rescue requests per adventure, if any will vary based on the Template:Shiren3 you're in. After exhausting all rescues, you must give up and receive a score for the adventure. For help with menu translations, see the Template:Shiren3.
Requesting a Rescue
To request a rescue, select 風来救助 from the main menu followed by 助けてもらう to receive help. (The rescue request menu options are currently undocumented in the English community.) You have 3 options:
- Rescue by Wireless Lan (PSP): Connect to someone nearby with another PSP and another Shiren 3 copy.
- Rescue by password: The game will generate a 56 character password. You can post this on, for example, an online forum if you do not have access to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.
- Rescue by NWFC*: You can choose to be rescued by someone on your friend code list or by anyone. If you choose anyone, you will post a rescue request on the official Mystery Dungeon NWFC rescue list. Anyone with the game can access the list from in the game and rescue you. A very streamlined process, and has benefits. You can select one of the preset messages to send as well. You will be given a unique 12-digit rescue number for your record, if you also want to post this on an online forum.
After you are rescued, be sure to send your rescuer a Thank You letter! Select "Send thank you letter" after selecting "Be rescued". Again, you have the different options available to do this.
Doing a Rescue
Apart from being a good Samaritan, there are also tangible benefits from doing rescues. For a successful rescue, you will immediately receive a reward for finishing the rescue. If the person you rescued sends you a Thank You letter, you will receive another item. You also get to keep all the loot you find in the dungeon during the rescue.
To do a rescue, select 救助する from the main menu. Then select "Rescue". Select 救助の依頼を受ける. You have the choice of receiving a rescue request by local wireless File:PSP.svg, password, or NWFC File:Wii.svg.
---- For NWFC, you have the following options: ---- Unknown exactly what exactly the options are currently.
- Rescue a friend: Check if someone on your friend code list has posted a rescue request.
- Rescue by request order: Receive a list of rescues by order of most recent rescue requests to oldest rescue requests from top to bottom.
- Rescue by player number: Receive a list of rescues by order of the player's number (?).
- Rescue by input number: Type in a specific 12-digit rescue number.
You start out in the Template:Shiren3 Template:Shiren3 with access to storage and the bank. Your goal is to reach the fallen player at the level they died on.The fallen player will be represented by a pole with a flag hanging off of it. Interacting with the flag pole is treated as speaking so if you're inflicted with the Template:Shiren3 Template:Shiren3, you'll be unable to interact with the pole and rescue the player.
After successfully completing the rescue, you will be sent back to the Village Store where you can deposit any Template:Shiren3 and File:Gitan Bag (Shiren 3).pngGitan you want to keep before returning to the main menu. Send a revival spell by selecting 救助する, then 復活の呪文を送る, then "Unknown text for method"
You can receive a thank you letter by selecting 救助する, then お礼の手紙を受ける, then "Unknown text for reception method".
Special notes about rescue requests:
- You can only have up to 5 rescues in your queue. Rescues will automatically be removed from the queue if you successfully complete the rescue and receive a thank you letter, but you can also manually delete them by selecting 整理.
- You can only rescue people up to the floor level that you have gone through yourself. The rescues of higher floor levels will not show up on the NWFC lists and you will not be allow to do them even if you type in the specific password or rescue number.
- Only up to 5 wanderers can attempt to rescue a person over NWFC. If you have 5 wanderers on the way but they all fail, you will have to resubmit the rescue request. Do this by requesting a rescue by friends or anyone, whichever you did not choose last time.
Special notes about rescuing:
- If you die during a rescue, you will lose everything on hand and you cannot request a rescue.
- All item and floor layouts are the same every time you try the rescue.
- On the final floor level of the rescue, you will always find a flagpole representing the player surrounded by monsters.
- See this for shareable rescue requests with items. Rescue Password for Items Template:Shiren3, Template:Shiren3
