[M:DEBUG]Q1. What's the V-Wave?
[M:DEBUG]Q2. What's a Team Attack?
[M:DEBUG]Q3. What's an encounter dungeon?
[M:DEBUG]Q4. What facilities can be in dungeons?
[M:DEBUG]Q5. Evolution?
[M:DEBUG]Q6. Tried this out just to see how a longer display would look.
[M:DEBUG]Q7. I'll tell you something secret about this selection signboard.
[M:DEBUG][CN]About V-Wave
[M:DEBUG]Apparently it's a wind that has peculiar[R]effects on all Pokémon
[M:DEBUG]The only effects will only be positive
[M:DEBUG]Each type (Fire, Water, Grass...) has it's[R]own set days
[M:DEBUG]Over the other way you can probably[R]see the forecast for the next 3 adventures
[M:DEBUG]It'll change with each adventure
[M:DEBUG]You can change the wave as you'd like[R]using the V-Wheel, though
[M:DEBUG]But it'll cost you
[M:DEBUG]The more money you add, the more[R]you'll raise your chance to choose
[M:DEBUG]Do you get it?
[M:DEBUG]Okay, then what's your next question?
[M:DEBUG][CN]About Team Attacks
[M:DEBUG]This is a special attack that all party[R]members use together
[M:DEBUG]It's not a move that each Pokémon has
[M:DEBUG]It's power will grow based on the[R]strength of your party members
[M:DEBUG]There's still a lot you don't know, huh?
[M:DEBUG]Any other questions?
[M:DEBUG][CN]About Encounter Dungeons
[M:DEBUG]We've added "encounter dungeons" to[R]the old above and below ground ones
[M:DEBUG]So now there are two types of dungeons
[M:DEBUG]- Encounter + underground + rest spots[R]- Underground + rest spots
[M:DEBUG]Hmm, it seems pretty dicey, but do[R]your best anyway
[M:DEBUG]I'm getting pretty tired of explaining.[R]What now?
[M:DEBUG][CN]About Dungeon Facilities
[M:DEBUG]Kecleon Shop
[M:DEBUG]...Huh? Looks like I can't explain that.
[M:DEBUG]Let's just move on, yeah?
[M:DEBUG][CN]Evolution
[M:DEBUG]The hero and partner won't evolve until[R]after the main scenario is done with
[M:DEBUG]Your friends on your team will be able[R]to evolve before the ending
[M:DEBUG]They evolve in the following conditions:
[M:DEBUG]Foes: after defeating your ally or foe[R]Ally: after meeting evolution requirements
[M:DEBUG][CN]Long character displays
[M:DEBUG]It's hard to see with small characters
[M:DEBUG][CN]Selection signboards
[M:DEBUG]It seems that when you write selections,[R]the cursor will go to place with 0 as its id
[M:DEBUG]When you want the cursor to default to[R]"No," then set its ID as 0

Two unused Main Menu illustrations can be found in the files of Gates to Infinity. One shows Oshawott, Tepig, Emolga and Dunsparce in Paradise in Companion Mode while the other shows a party consisting of Snivy, Axew, Carracosta and Gothorita opening a chest while inside a dungeon. The events depicted in the latter never happen in the actual game.

The Request Counter and the Request Board had different designs in pre-release screenshots. The Request Board had a darker shade of brown and the notes were positioned differently. The cloth on the counter used to be purple instead of blue, the arrow behind Template:Character wasn't angled and it didn't have the three blue stripes that it has in the released game. The boxes and jars around Paradise Center, the welcome sign and the arch at the entrance also got a similar redesign.

Many of the files in the message folders are empty, and many of them include or exclusively have the following line

[M:DEBUG]If you see this message, please report[R]it to the developers.

A similar line can be found in message/outline.bin

[M:DEBUG]If this message is displayed,[R]submit a bug report.

At the start of the Japanese version, the player can choose wether the partner is male or female. This choice was removed in the North American and European versions, making the female Pikachu model unused in those versions.

wallpaper_sub01.img is a picture with several vertical bars of various colors with the word "DEBUG" on top.

There are two pictures for each possible partner: bg/im01_01a_pika.img, bg/im01_01a_pika_a.img, bg/im01_01b_tsuta.img, bg/im01_01b_tsuta_a.img, bg/im01_01c_poka.img, bg/im01_01c_poka_a.img, bg/im01_01d_miju.img, bg/im01_01d_miju_a.img, bg/im01_01e_kiba.img and bg/im01_01e_kiba_a.img. All of them look the same: four vertical bars of various colors. It has been speculated that these pictures might have been intended to appear as the background picture while selecting the partner.

Unused icons appear in the game. These include an "unused" kanji icon (File:Unused kanji icon.png) and a "de" (for debug) katakana icon (File:Debug katakana icon.png). These icons are what the game displays [M:UNUSED] and [M:DEBUG] as.

Unused error messages in message/common.bin, likely related to the DLC:

[CN][M:UNUSED]The SD Card is not inserted.[R][R][CN]Could not load music.[R][CN]Music play ended.

[CN][M:UNUSED]The downloadable content is corrupted.[R][R][CN]Could not load music.[R][CN]Music play ended.

Language selection text immediately follows (in the released game the language depends on the system settings and can be changed at any moment)

ENGLISH

FRENCH

GERMAN

ITALIAN

SPANISH

Please choose a language.

There is also a duplicate of an identical error message that is actually used (without the unused kanji icon).

[M:UNUSED][CN]The SD Card was removed.

References to an unused text speed option can be found in message/common.bin:

[M:UNUSED]Text Speed

[M:UNUSED]Slow

[M:UNUSED]Normal

[M:UNUSED]Fast

[M:UNUSED]It changes the text speed.

The placement of the lines suggests this was going to be at the top of the options menu, above the option to change the type of windows being used.
