Draft:Shiren 5 Vita:Safe Shield Type

The Safe Shield family of Shields was first introduced in Shiren 4. It bears the Anti-Burgle rune, which prevents your Gitan from being stolen by monsters. This effect is static. When the Safe Shield reaches its 8th level, the Fort Knox, it gains the Anti-Blast (1) rune, which reduces explosion damage by 50%. This shield does not resonate with any other piece of equipment.

Tips for use

The Safe Shield is useful as the main source for the Anti-Burgle rune, to put on other shields. The Heavy Shield and Blast Shield also gain this rune when they reach their level 8 forms, the Ultimate Aegis and Bomb Shelter. The benefit of Anti-Burgle is that you can easily gain Gitan from Froggo type monsters when they can't steal your Gitan. But if you have to choose between this rune and another, it's not a big deal.

If you aren't currently able to synthesize it, the Safe Shield can be a decent shield to equip until you find a better one.

There is no reason to use this shield as your main. It doesn't get particularly powerful as it levels up, and doesn't have any resonances. And the Anti-Burgle effect is the exact same whether you level this shield up all the way or have it as a rune on another shield. The Anti-Blast (1) rune that it gains at level 8 is the same that is innate to the Blast Shield Type, which is not hard to find. There is also a superior Anti-Blast (2) rune obtainable using a special Mixer recipe, that grants total immunity to explosion damage.
