The Blast Shield family of Shields has appeared in every Shiren game. It bears the Anti-Blast (1) rune. The base level of the rune reduces explosion damage by 50%, but this improves as the shield levels up. When the Blast Shield reaches its 8th level, the Bomb Shelter, it gains the Rustproof rune, as well as the Anti-Burgle rune, which prevents enemies from stealing your Gitan. Anti-Blast (1) rune, which reduces explosion damage by 50%. The Blast Shield family resonates with the Crescent Katana Type of swords, increasing attack and defense by 3.
Tips for use
The base defense of this shield is low and does not increase quickly as it levels up. Its final form, the Bomb Shelter, is supposed to be the best shield for defending against explosions, but the existence of the Anti-Blast (2) rune, which grants immunity to them, makes it obsolete. The resonance with the Crescent Katana family doesn't make either shield or sword worthy as main equipment, though it can make them usable if you happen to have them in a dungeon.
Still, the Anti-Blast (1) rune is a must-have even at the base 50%, so the Blast Shield is a very important synthesis ingredient. The Anti-Blast (2) rune comes from a Mixer recipe and is complicated to obtain, while the Blast Shield is common, and the runes are not mutually exclusive.
