The Kid Squid (Japanese: イカキング) Monster Family in / Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate (2020) consists of:

1. Kid Squid (Japanese: イカキング)
2. Squidfficial (Japanese: イカだいおう)
3. King Squid (Japanese: イカエンペラー)
4. Squidperor (Japanese: イカカイザー)

The Night counterpart family is the Evil Kid Squid Family.

Combat Strategy

The Squid monsters will sometimes blind you instead of attacking you. Kid Squid and Squidfficial can only blind you if they are right next to you, whereas King Squid and Squidperor can blind you from anywhere in the same room.

If you are at risk of being blinded, try to anticipate where the monsters will move next, so you know which direction to attack. Note that you cannot read scrolls while blind. Monster Detector and similar items render them largely harmless.

A thrown Onigiri of any type will defeat these monsters instantly, turning them into a Squid Sushi Scroll. You can then Eat (not Read) the scroll to gain 40 fullness. This is one way to recover a Rotten Onigiri.
