Combat Strategy

Instead of attacking, a Gazer can hypnotize you for one turn and make you perform a random action, such as attacking in a random direction, using an item, throwing an item, or inserting an item into a pot. Since acting while hypnotized uses up your turn, a Gazer can hypnotize you several turns in a row.

The first three forms, Gazer, Super Gazer and Hyper Gazer, can only hypnotize you at melee range. (confirm this doesn't cut corners)

Ultra Gazers can hypnotize you from anywhere in the same room, including at the hallway. They are some of the most dangerous monsters deep into a dungeon run, and a prime target for an Extinction Scroll.

When defeated, Ultra Gazers drop 5,000 Gitan, which can be picked up and used as projectiles.

An Anti-Gaze Trge, or the Anti-Hypno rune derived from it, prevents hypnosis from a Gazer. An Immunity Scroll or Reflective Pot protect against hypnosis on the current floor.
