The Night counterpart family is the Dark Fearabbit Family.
Every turn when you are in the same room as a Fearabbit, there is a chance (how much?) it will "pull from a hat", teleporting up to 3 creatures (monsters and you) in the same room right next to itself. Monsters, including the Fearabbit itself, can attack you before your next move. Being at the doorway just outside a room counts as being in the room, and a Fearabbit can pull you in. A Fearabbit will not pull from a hat if you are directly next to it.
Scarabbits can pull in up to 5 creatures instead of 3. Horrabbits and Terrabbits can teleport creatures from anywhere on the same floor.
Fearabbits are dangerous as they can surround you with monsters, so try to kill or disable them from a distance at the first opportunity. Some good options are staves, talismans, and arrows. If you can't get it into a good position to attack, consider retreating into a corridor, although with every step taken in the room you incur the risk of getting pulled in.
If you get pulled in, stop and see if you have items that can help you escape. If you have all monsters disabled, consider killing the Fearabbit before you make your escape.
The Unmoving rune (obtained from Steady Shield) prevents a Fearabbit from teleporting you, though it can still pull other monsters next to it.
