The Viral Shroom (Japanese: もどきダケ) Monster Family in  Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer 3 - The Sleeping Princess and the Karakuri Mansion consists of:

1. Viral Shroom (Japanese: もどきダケ)
2. Toxic Shroom (Japanese: ものまねダケ)
3. Skullcap (Japanese: そっくりダケ)
4. Deathcap (Japanese: うりふたつダケ)

Monster Ability

• Level 1: May cause a random status condition. (Max Strength -1, Grand Paralyzed, Slow, Transformed)
• Level 2: May cause a random status condition. (Max Strength -1, Asleep, Paranoid, Darkness)
• Level 3: May cause a random status condition. (Max Strength -1, Blind, Berserk, Lip Sealed)
• Level 4: May cause a random status condition. (Max Strength -1, Epic Paralyzed, Deep Sleep, Burdened)

If the character's maximum strength falls below 8, it will be restored to 8 upon clearing or escaping the dungeon.

Combat Strategy

• Level 1: If you've previously read a Drought Scroll, it's possible to rely on a Viral Shroom to turn the Player Characters into a Giras in Tengu's Castle. Hovering over a Waterway will turn scrolls in the Inventory into Soaked Scrolls and those can then be dried out to create a Blank Scroll Farm.
  • This method works if you're playing the Japanese version, and don't have access to the Mysterious Dungeon, or are playing the story and don't have access to a Water Jar.
