The Curseless Armband is featured in Fay's Puzzle #30, even though it is Rescue Reward only in the final game, making it extremely rare, with maybe a handful of players getting to use it. This could be a result of the puzzle's being copied over from Super Famicom - where the Armband is much more common - without regard for the new balance of monsters and items, which is clear in a few other puzzles. One of the guide books recommends the player use a Curseless Armband in Ravine of the Dead, which would only make sense to expect the player to have one if the Armband was more common. It's possible the guide book was given data not finalised, at a time where Curseless Armband was much more common. Curseless Armband's ID is adjacent to non-Rescue Reward Armbands (as well as Defense Armband), leaving only Armbands that combine non-Rescue Reward Armbands in the Rescue Reward Armbands sections.

It seems that Curseless Armband was originally supposed to be accessible without Rescue Rewards, which would make sense as an item featured in the original game.
