Munchlax has a chance of appearing in Pokémon Square after Mt. Freeze[1] is completed for the first time during the main story. When he does, he walks from the eastern side to the western side, and leaves. His appearances are significantly more frequent compared to the original game.
The event comes in two variations. In one, Munchlax is hungry, and the player needs to give him food. In the other, Munchlax drops three apples, and the player needs to give them back to him. If the player refuses, one Apple is added to the player's inventory (or storage, if the inventory is full) and Munchlax walks out to the east of Pokémon Square. In either case, the player is rewarded with a Munch Belt if Munchlax's request is completed.
