Unused Text in Nintendo DS Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky.

Unused Default Names

The Hero and the Partner have unused default names.

Hero English Japanese French Spanish German Italian
Muttski いぬのすけ Muttski Muttski Muttski Muttski
Partner Dinsdale ダネたろう Dinsdale Dinsdale Dinsdale Dinsdale

Dinsdale is a name used by Nob Ogasawara, who translated the game to English.

Next to the used default team name Team Poképals, there is another team name. This was the used default team name in Game Boy Advance/Nintendo DS Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Team, however, it is unused here, and while the Japanese name is the same, the translations are different. The Japanese version of this name is just "Pokémon" with a pluralizing suffix, similar to other team names in Japanese. The English, Spanish, and German versions seem to be similar, only with an extra "e" before the pluralizing "s". In French and Italian, it seems to be the opposite of Poképals, using variations of the word "enemies" instead of pals.
