Monster Elemental Abilities

Thunder Causes Paralysis - Thunder Struck a pressure point! (Grand Paralyzed)
Water Attacks are accurate - Water negated the attack!
Nature Nullifies staff effects - Nature neutralized the staff
Spirit Reduces Fullness - The Spirit consumed life!
Fire Attacks are critical - The Fire of battle raised power!
Earth Movement is invisible (Can travel while cloaked)
Illusion Evasion increases - The Illusion negated the attack!
Steel Counters damage - Steel countered the attack!
Shadow Converts damage to HP - The Shadow absorbed HP!
Special Boss Boss, Special Enemy, Shiren and allies, Illusion Trap effect.

Dragon Orbs General Information

The first dragon orb (Japanese 竜脈) will appear at the Forest of Fire in the Hourai Underground Kingdom. The way to know if you're on a dragon orb floor is to look for the icon in the top right corner of the screen. dragon orbs are a great way to bless items, get more of an item (Herbs), and simply to strengthen your equipment. The way dragon orbs work is you offer up a piece of equipment and wait for turns to pass. The orbs warp around the dungeon after a certain number of turns. By reading dragon orb Scrolls, you can increase the number of dragon orbs to a max of 8. There's 9 different types of dragon orbs and they share the same elements as the monsters found throughout the game. The attribute of a dragon orb will determine the seal that will be applied to the weapon, shield or armband, the types of items born from staves and which types of arrows will be created. There are 3 levels of dragon orbs which can be determined by the orbs of rotating light circling around them. The higher the number, the higher the level and the more powerful staff that will be created with use.

Barriers

To prevent dragon orbs from warping, you have to read a scroll of barrier. However, should you, your allies or a monster break the barrier, the barrier will vanish and the orb will warp away. Barrier scrolls can usually be found on the floor of the dragon orb and sometimes on the floors before them. Offer an item to the dragon orb and then step back and read a scroll of barrier. If anybody or any monsters are inside the barrier when the scroll is read, they will be warped away. All dragon orbs in the room will have a barrier created around them so long as they're not up against a wall. All 8 squares around the orb need to be clear or the scroll won't work. You can create up to 4 barriers to shorten the number of turns for the orb to work.

Absorb Staff The number of swings increases, staves with the dragon orb attribute (Level 1-3) are created
Arrow Becomes blessed, special arrows are created based on the element of the dragon orb.
Change Jar Becomes blessed, capacity increases, turns into another jar
Scroll Becomes blessed, changes into another scroll
Gitan The amount increases, it turns into an item

quantity increases

Staff Becomes blessed, the number of charges increases
Spell Becomes blessed, the number increases (up to 10)
Stones Becomes blessed
Herb Becomes blessed, creates more of the same and other herbs.
Riceball Becomes blessed
Meat Becomes blessed

Notes

These notes, taken from the Japanese wiki need some testing and more information.

  • An Absorb Staff with a dragon orb attribute will change to an Absorb Staff if offered to an orb of a different type.
  • If you put it on the dragon vein of the same attribute, it grows frequently irrespective of the level and it increases the number of times. (Is it's growth based on the level of the orb?)
  • At that time, strengthening plus or minus and signs will be in the initial state after change and blessings and curses will also disappear.
  • Seals may vanish if it receives an effect of another dragon orb, to get around this Mixer monsters or Melding jars are needed.
