Blessings and Curses: Everything you need to know.

Curses

Curses have existed in every Shiren the Wanderer game since the original and work more or less the same here. Items that become cursed can no longer be used until you remove the curse. All items can be cursed and if you equip cursed items, you can't unequip them normally. Cursed items will not be able to be used anymore and equipped weapons and shields will lose their effects. Cursed projectiles can't be stacked and combined to remove curses like in Shiren 1.

Obtaining Cursed Items

Items found in dungeons have a chance to be cursed. They can be cursed directly in your inventory by monsters of the VooDummy family. Items stored in a jar can't be cursed but the jar itself can be. The curse will have an impact on the sale price or damage dealt when the item is thrown at the monsters. Swords and shields found cursed in dungeons will have a value of -1.

Removing Curses

There are several ways to get rid of curses on your items. Stepping on an unequip trap will remove all cursed equipment. Reading a Blessing Scroll will remove curses the selected items and sometimes all items not in jars. Reading a scroll of plating will remove the curses from the selected equipped weapon or shield. Air Bless Scrolls and Earth Bless scrolls will remove curses from your equipped sword or shield respectively. Inserting a cursed item into a Purification Jar will remove the curse and a Blessing Jar will also remove the curse. Offering an item to a Dragon Orb will remove any curses and finally a Scroll of Need can remove curses from equipped items.
