Community:Nintendo 3DS eShop Notes
This page covers various information regarding the versions of the eShop that were accessible from a European Nintendo 3DS before their closure. These notes were taken by B, mostly between July 12, 2022 and July 15, 2022. Many screenshots were also taken, although they aren't sorted, and none are uploaded to the MDFW.
Misc info
The DLC list in the eShop (not in-game DLC shop) doesn't show any details besides the DLC's name and price for the current region. They can't be selected to see additional info, the list can only be scrolled up and down.
Trying to open the DLC list in the eShop occasionally gives an error.
Each version of the eShop is only available in one language (or occasionally a set of languages, chosen when opening the eShop), regardless of the system language.
Regions of European, Oceanian and African 3DS
Language should be English where not specified.
Albania: eShop not avaialable
Andorra: not available
Australia: Australian dollar (AUD, $). (needs to be added to Templates) User reviews are different in the Australian version of the eShop (I haven't paid attention to most others, but this is the only one I've noticed that's different. comparison: usually Super has 302 five stars review, in Australia it has 151 five star reviews)
Austria: Euro. German. Reviews are different. Pay more attention to reviews. It seems they are all different (based on country)
Azerbaijan: not available
Belgium: Euro. French and Dutch (language is chosen from a selection screen). Checked Dutch only. Reviews are different.
Bosnia and Herzegovina: not available
Botswana: not available
Bulgaria: Euro. See Hungary, Romania, etc. Different reviews.
Chad: not available
Croatia: Euro. See Hungary, Romania, etc.
Cyprus: Euro. See Hungary, Romania, etc.
Czech Republic: Czech koruna (CZK, Kč). The Kč symbol isn't used on the eShop, it uses CZK. (needs to be added to Templates)
Denmark (Kingdom of): Danish krone (DKK, kr.). (needs to be added to Templates)
Djibouti: not available
Eritrea: not available
Estonia: Euro. See Hungary, Romania, etc.
Finland: Euro.
France: Euro. French.
Germany: Euro. German.
Gibraltar: not available
Greece: Euro.
Guernsey: not available
Hungary: Euro. English. The GtI banner says the demo is avaialable, but it isn't in this version of the eShop. DLC button is present, but DLC can't be accessed. Seems to be the same situation as Romania.
Iceland: not available
India: not available. Trying to access the DLC shop in game in these circumastances display the in-game message "To use the Internet, read the following with an adult." followed by the 3DS system notice "This service is not available in your region." and then goes back to the Top Menu. Trying to open the eShop from the HOME Menu displays the same system notice.
Ireland: Euro.
Isle of Man: not available
Italy: Euro. Italian. A GtI screenshot has a Woobat with its French name, presumably whoever took the screenshot was playing in French earlier, and the name remained as the Pokémon's nickname (this is how it works if you switch between languages in this game)
Jersey: not available
Latvia: Euro. See Hungary, Romania, etc.
Lesotho: not available
Liechtenstein: not available
Lithuania: Euro. See Hungary, Romania, etc.
Luxembourg: Euro. French and German. (language is chosen from a selection screen)
Macedonia (Republic of): not available
Mali: not available
Malta: Euro. See Hungary, Romania, etc.
Mauritania: not available
Monaco: not available
Montenegro: not available
Mozambique: not available
Namibia: not available
Netherlands: Euro. Dutch.
New Zealand: New Zealand dollar (NZD, $) (needs to be added to Templates)
Niger: not available
Norway: Norwegian krone (NOK, kr) (needs to be added to Templates)
Poland: Polish zloty (PLN, zł). (needs to be added to Templates)
Portugal: Euro. Portuguese.
Romania: Euro. See Hungary. Despite this version of the eShop being in English, the GtI page doesn't have the two trailers it should have. GtI DLC isn't available, "No add-on content is available at this time." message appears when selecting "Add-on Content" in the game's page. Trying to access the DLC menu to buy them inside the game with the country set to Romania gives you a "The SD Card was removed." error, even though it wasn't removed. Demo not available. Despite this "Demos" is under "Related Keywords".
Russia: eShop currently not available (first checked on July 12, 2022, still not available on March 26, 2023). This erorr is different from simply "not available". In this case I can open the eShop, and then get the error, while the other case I can't open it at all and I get the error in the HOME menu. I can't get far enough in the eShop to change the eShop's region to match the console's region, so trying to access the DLC menu in-game gives me an error saying the regions don't match.
San Marino: not available
Serbia and Kosovo: not available
Slovakia: Euro. See Hungary, Romania, etc.
Slovenia: Euro. See Hungary, Romania, etc.
Somalia: not available
South Africa: South African rand (ZAR, R) (needs to be added to Templates)
Spain: Euro. Spanish. Despite Pokémon Mystery Dungeon being known as "Pokémon Mundo misterioso" in Spanish, the spanish trailer for Super available on the Spanish eShop is called "Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon: Tráiler general". The thumbnail of the video uses the Spanish "Pokémon Mundo megamisterioso" logo, and the video itself is entirely in Spanish. The Spanish version of the second GtI trailer has a wrong frame at 00:11, it accidentally cuts to the the end card.
Sudan: not available
Swaziland: not available
Sweden: Swedish krona (SEK, kr) (needs to be added to Templates)
Switzerland: Swiss franc (CHF). The eShop uses CHF as the symbol. Language selection (French, German and Italian). (needs to be added to Templates)
Turkey: Nearly empty, has a few game updates and Nintendo Letterbox, seems to not have been updated in 9 years. GtI and Super are thus unavailable.
United Kingdom: Pounds
Vatican City: not available
Zambia: not available
Zimbabwe: not available
