Equipping a Trap Armband visibly changes Shiren's sprite from a red undershirt, blue cloak and shoes to a green shirt and red accessories.
Abilities
Only the Trap Armband explicitly states that it provides the 'Trap Master' status, Monster-Shiren as a Mecharoid Family Monster has similar abilities.

With a non-cursed Trap Armband equipped, Shiren can pick up traps from the floor and place them down once. Once a trap has been placed or dropped, it cannot be picked up again. Mecharoid-Shiren can create traps on empty floor spaces to a maximum total of 99 traps on the floor. Only traps that are able to spawn naturally on those floors can be created by Mecharoid-Shiren.
When monsters step on floor spaces with traps, a number appears next to them. This is a trap multiplier, which determines how much XP is rewarded when that monster is defeated. With no multiplier, Trap Master Shiren, or Mecharoid-Shiren will only gain 1 XP.

- Equip a Trap Armband
- Transform into a Mecharoic Family Monster by consuming Monster Meat or by the magic ability of a Skull Wizard with a transform effect.
How to cure
- Unequip the Trap Armband
- Revert back to Shiren from a Mecharoid Family Monster.
Trivia
- The status, 'Trap Master' does not visibly appear as Shiren's status, with either method, however, it is mentioned in the description of the Trap Armband, and evidently changes Shiren's sprite.
