Shiren 1 DS:Double Speed
Template:Infobox States (Shiren 1)
Effect on Shiren
You will now be able to move twice in one turn. In one turn, Shiren has the following options:
- 2 movement turns
- 1 movement turn and 1 attacking turn
- 2 attacking turns
Effect on Monsters
There are two degrees of Double Speed in Monsters, those that, when stationary for one turn next to a target:
- Cannot attack twice in that turn. Single Attack.
- Can attack twice in that turn. - Double Attack. ('Double Speed' Shiren falls into this category).
Some monsters inherently move at double speed, and of these, some can also double attack.
Effect of 1 speed increase
Slow - Normal Speed Normal - Monsters: Single attack, Shiren: Double Attack DS:Single attack - Double Attack. DS:Double attack - No effect.
How to inflict this effect
Shiren
- Get hit by the magic ability of a Skull Mage with the speed effect.
- Get hit by the bolt of an Accelerating Staff that is reflected back at Shiren by an Air Devil Family Monster.
Monsters
- Level the monster up into a form that inherently moves at double speed.
- Read a Scroll of Sleep and wait <14 turns for nearby monsters or those in the same room to wake up with their speed one level higher.
- Read a Scroll of Haste to increase the speed of nearby monsters or those in the same room by one level.
- Swing or throw an Accelerating Staff at the monster.
- Transform into a Skull Mage and cast magic with the speed effect on the monster.
How to cure
As a beneficial status condition, the player likely wouldn't want to cure the 'Invisible' status and therefore would avoid ways of accidentally curing the condition. These methods are listed below:
Monsters
- If the speed increase of the monster is inherent, inflicting the 'Sealed' status on them will change their speed to 'normal'. Some methods for achieving this are listed below:
- Swing or throw a Sealing Staff at the monster.
- As a Trap Master, either throw or have the monster trigger either a Unequip Trap or a Curse Trap.
Caution
A Monster whose speed was artificially sped up, see:How to inflict this effect, will not be returned to 'normal' speed when 'Sealed'. However, 'double attack' monsters will will become 'single attack' monsters.
