Meta:Shiren 2 Early Release Campaign
The Shiren 2 Early Release Campaign (Japanese: 早解きキャンペーン) for Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer 2 - Shiren's Castle and the Oni Invasion involved players beating the main story and sending in their "clear time", "password", and "number of adventures" displayed at the ending on a government-issued postcard. The 1,000 fastest players would receive an Oni Extermination Certificate with a serial number to denote the achievement.[1]
The event ran from September 27, 2000, to October 31, 2000. The final date was initially improperly reported as ending on October 26 but was later corrected. Players would be required to send their zip code, address, name, age, phone number, "clear time", "password", and "number of adventures" displayed after the end of the game on a government-issued postcard. Players were allowed to send in multiple codes, only the fastest attempt would be accepted.[2][1]
