Gates:Detours
Detours (Japanese: ??) are a game mechanic in Gates to Infinity. Some dungeons have an obstacle that prevents from fully exploring certain floors, even using items such as the Mobile Orb. Keys, money and/or Pokémon of a specific type are required to surpass the obstacle and explore the rest of the floor, where different items and Pokémon can be found. Some detours can only be found if the dungeon was entered from the Request Gate after selecting a mission that allows reaching the detour floor. Telluric Path and Tyrian Maze can only be accessed during the story, so there is only one chance to fully explore their detour floors. The Detour Guide is a facility that can be built in Paradise that notifies the player when a detour floor is reached, if the option is enabled, and can be upgraded to sell keys and provides a list of detours.
Inside a detour items and Pokémon that don't appear in the rest of the floor or dungeon can be found. Training Switch tiles can also be found. Using a Monster Orb in a detour room won't cause detour-only Pokémon to appear in the resulting Monster House.
