Draft:Shiren 4 DS:Banana Kingdom

Introduction

The Banana Kingdom (Japanese: バナナ王国) is a post-game dungeon that can be accessed by going to the lower-right corner of Template:Shiren4.

This is one of the most unique dungeons in Shiren 4. It is somewhat similar to the Tonfan Dungeon from Magic Castle of the Desert, but isn't a food dungeon. You have to get to the end of the dungeon while keeping Template:Shiren4 alive. This is not a typical escort mission, though. Banana Prince is a very special party member and he is just as important to your survival as you are to his.

Strategy

Equipment is rare, but as you would expect, Template:Shiren4 are common. You are very unlikely to starve. Since Template:Shiren4 heal Banana Prince just the same as the full banana, you mainly want to use those. It can be good to eat a lot of Template:Shiren4 or Template:Shiren4 at once to expand your maximum Fullness, then keep the peels. Even if you let a banana rot it will be useful to heal the Prince, but it is better to eat it before it rots. You will usually wait until Banana Prince is black before healing him. Note that if you just saw him turn black, you know he can still take a couple more hits, so it may be fine to take another turn for positioning or eating a banana. Also, when he is only brown, but there is a risk that he may take many hits soon, this is also a good time to heal him.

In the Banana Kingdom, there are statues of the Template:Shiren4, which are special tiles that are completely indestructible and impassable.

Though this is one of the dungeons that resets your level and Template:Shiren4s, it can actually get easier over repeated attempts, as Banana Prince's level-ups and current Bana-Powers are retained. Some of the Bana-Powers you can get from closer to 30 F can become very useful in the early floors.

Stay Close to the Prince

One of the most dangerous things that can happen is if Template:Shiren4 and the Prince get separated. The Prince will try to stay close to Shiren as long as he can see him, but if he is Template:Shiren4, Template:Shiren4, or one of you is warped to a different part of the floor, he will get into fights with nearby enemies. Then your priority will be to reunite with the Prince or find the Stairs as soon as possible before he takes too many hits. If neither the Prince nor the stairs are close, there are some items that can help. Reading an Template:Shiren4 will warp the Prince directly to Shiren, and Template:Shiren4 can buy you time to walk around the floor. One of the Bana-Powers summons Shiren along with various Template:Shiren4 from around the floor into the vicinity of the Prince, and if the Prince learns it he will use it any time he is far enough from Shiren.

Avoid Baking and Rotting

Like Shiren under the Template:Shiren4, Banana Prince has a fatal weakness to fire/explosions and water.

Fortunately, there is little risk of this within the Banana Kingdom, especially when clearing for the first time. But it can happen:

• If Shiren eats a Template:Shiren4 while facing the Prince, or if a Dragon Grass is thrown at the Prince.
• If Shiren swings a Template:Shiren4 and shoots a fireball at the Prince.
• If the Prince somehow ends up on a water tile.
• If an Template:Shiren4 monster explodes next to the Prince. They first appear on 29 F, in the Template:Shiren4.
• If a Template:Shiren4 monster breathes fire on the Prince. They first appear on 30 F, at nighttime.

Reward

The reward for the initial clear is a Template:Shiren4, and the ability to recruit Banana Prince outside of this dungeon. Note: The Sturdy Hammer is not easily replaceable, but Template:Shiren4 requires a Level 1 Sturdy Hammer for a level-up. So if you want to level up Borg Mamel (and get a Template:Shiren4), do nothing with the Sturdy Hammer but tag it and put it in storage.
