Adventure Logs, also known as Travel Logs, Footprint of Adventure, and so on, are a gameplay element in the Mystery Dungeon Franchise. While some games allow the players to delete their entire save files, others only delete the actual world state and not the Adventure Log data.

This creates an issue for players who want the sense of accomplishment of filling out their Adventure Log and related achievements themselves, or who want accurate stats.

This manual will detail methods to overwrite data for the affected games, as there's currently no known way to do so under normal circumstances.

Game Boy Advance

Affected Games:

Method

This method requires the following:

  • Nintendo DS or Nintendo DS Lite
  • Nintendo DS Flash Card. Such as an R4
    • Note: This is not an official Nintendo product, it's a third party product for a Nintendo handheld.
  • Micro SD Card

GBA Backup Tool program

  • Computer
  • Game Rom
  • GBA Emulator

Boot up the games rom in the emulator, crete a new save and play to a point where you're able to save the game. Move the save file over to the SD card and insert it into the GBA Backup Tool's designated folder.

Insert the Micro SD card into the flash cart, insert the flash cart into the DS, and boot up the flash csrt. Load the GBA Backup Tool and restore the selected save file to the GBA cartridge. The fresh emulator save files adventure log data will overwrite the save data on the cart.
