Development Oversights entail spelling errors, translation errors, bugs, glitches, and other aspects of unintended gameplay. This page covers Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer 5: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate for the Nintendo DS.
Known Bugs & Glitches
- While being a theft, reading a Scroll will spawn a non-aggressive VIP Shopkeepers wandering around. It is ot possible to talk to them, but if they are attacked in any way, they will pursuit you.
- As a result of poor optimization, the more complete the Item Book is, the slower the game runs for certain actions. The slowness issue seems to also affect both save files. As such, these fuctionalities are affected by it:
- Opening an item's description will take longer (~4-5 seconds).
- Some of these item descriptions get completely unreadable, this includes: miscellaneous items descriptions, like Gitans or Catstones; pots such as the Dodger Pot; and bracelets.
- Trying to read something on the Status menu will crash the game for some reason.
- This case is also happening when trying to host a multiplayer game or read the Hints menu, as well as explanations for some effects, like the Dodger Pot's effect.
- The inventory takes a little longer to load when you have new items on hand.
- Animations on the New Item book run are slower.
- Animations on the Monster Book run a little slower too.
- Sometimes, when turning the console to Sleep mode and opening it again, the controller will not respond for a while; the only way to control the game during this time is by using the Touch Screen.
