States (Japanese: ステータス), or status conditions, are common gameplay elements that alter the player's gameplay. They inflict and provide various positive, or negative effects on Torneko, or monsters. These conditions are given by monsters, traps, or items.
States
The following list happens on both Torneko and the targeted monsters.

Negative | Blindness | 目つぶし | The screen goes black. Torneko has a higher chance to miss attacks. | Enemies walk in random directions and have a higher chance to miss attacks. |
Confusion | 混乱 | No matter what direction you move, Torneko will move in a random direction. When attacking, Torneko will attack in a random direction, meaning he can attack in a different direction than you're facing. | Moves in random directions. | |
Fear | くちなし | Torneko is unable to attack, nor can he uses items. | Enemy runs away from you. | |
Madowashi | まどわし | Torneko hallucinates and sees items as flowers, and monsters as himself. | Enemy becomes unable to act. | |
