The Training Facility is a "puzzle set" located in the Beginner House in Inori Village. It is accessible from the outset of the game / it doesn't need to be unlocked. See the Locations page for info on what a "puzzle set" is and what that entails.

This puzzle set is super easy. It contains 90 puzzles, each of which is exactly 1 floor long, and many of which have popup hints/tips about how to solve them. It's designed to be educational, to help the player learn some simple and some not-so-simple aspects of the game. Solving each puzzle for the first time gives you a random low-level item (or at least I assume it to be random). Which means the Training Facility is a great way to get a one-time boost of helpful, low-level items. (Consider holding off on advancing through these "puzzles" if you're close to full on inventory, then coming back to do more when you're low on inventory.)

Solving all Training Facility "puzzles" gives you an Adventure Footprint entry, and IIRC it also gives you a PlayStation Vita trophy. I don't remember for sure but I don't think there is an item reward given for solving all the puzzles.
