Template:Infobox States (Shiren 1)

Effect on Shiren

You will now be able to move twice in one turn. In one turn, Shiren has the following options:

  • 2 movement turns
  • 1 movement turn and 1 attacking turn
  • 2 attacking turns

The duration of the effect is dependent on how it was inflicted.

Effect on Monsters

There are two degrees of Double Speed in Monsters, those that, when stationary for one turn next to a target

  • Cannot attack twice in that turn. Double Speed:Single Attack.

Attacking will end that monster's turn.

  • Can attack twice if stationary in that turn. - Double Speed:Double Attack.

The monster can attack twice in the same turn, as long as they do not move in the same turn.

Effect of 1 speed increase

Normal speed Shiren gains two levels from one acceleration, from normal speed, to Double Speed:Double Attack. Slow → Normal speed
Normal → Monsters: Double Speed:Single attack, Shiren: Double Speed:Double Attack
Double Speed:Single attack → Double Attack.
Double Speed:Double attack → No effect.

How to get affected

Shiren

Monsters

  • Level the monster up into a form that inherently moves at double speed.
  • Read a Scroll of Sleep and wait <14 turns for nearby monsters or those in the same room to wake up with their speed one level higher.
  • Read a Scroll of Haste to increase the speed of nearby monsters or those in the same room by one level.
  • Swing or throw an Accelerating Staff at the monster.
  • Transform into a Skull Mage and cast magic with the speed effect on the monster.

How to cure

As a beneficial status condition, the player likely wouldn't want to cure the 'Double Speed' status and therefore would avoid ways of accidentally curing the condition. These methods are listed below:

Monsters

Caution

A Monster whose speed was artificially sped up, see: Template:Shiren 1 DS, will not be returned to 'normal' speed when 'Sealed'.
