The Herb of Life (Japanese: 命の草) is a herb introduced to the [[Shiren 1/Version Differences|Super Famicom]] release of Shiren 1. Consuming it grants +3 to [[Shiren 1/Gameplay Elements/Shiren (player character)|Shiren's]] max HP. Shiren's current HP will not be increased by eating an Herb of Life. Throwing and hitting a [[Shiren 1/Monsters|Monster]] with an Herb of LIfe will have no unusual effect... that is, unless the monster is a Ghost-type. Hitting a Ghost-type monster with an Herb of Life will cause 50 HP of damage to that monster.

Shiren's current HP will not be increased by eating an Herb of Life. Throwing and hitting a Monster with an Herb of LIfe will have no unusual effect... that is, unless the monster is a Ghost-type. Hitting a Ghost-type monster with an Herb of Life will cause 50 HP of damage to that monster.
