The Antidote Herb (Japanese: 毒消し草) is a herb introduced to the Super Famicom release of Shiren 1. Consuming it will recover Shiren's lost strength back to its maximum value. It can also deal 50 damage to members of the Ghost Radish family when thrown.

  • Eating an Antidote Herb will restore Shiren's Strength to its maximum.
  • Throwing an Antidote Herb will have no effect on its target beyond doing the usual set amount of damage. Unless that monster is a member of the Ghost Radish family. Hitting a monster from the Ghost Radish family with an Antidote Herb will do 50 points of damage to it.
  • Keeping at least one Antidote Herb around is a good way to counter the odd strength damage done by Poison Dart Traps or other means. Once you have a Chiropractic Jar (which restores strength when used in addition to healing), then the antidote herb becomes less useful to hold onto.
