This Monster page is about monsters in Torneko's Great Adventure: Mystery Dungeon for Super Famicom. For the monsters lore page, see Dragon Quest:Monsters.

Monster (Japanese: モンスター) are creatures found in dungeons. They are almost all hostile and will attack Torneko on sight, with few exceptions. For a full list of monsters, organized alphabetically by family, see: List of Monsters.

Spawning

Each dungeon floor spawns with a number of monsters, and new ones are spawned after a set number of turns. This can not be used indefinitely, as each dungeon has a set number of turns before an Earthquake drops Torneko to the next floor, kicking the player out of it, meaning each dungeon floor can spawn a limited number of monsters.

Combat

Monsters fall into one or two of the following types. Monster types are either susceptible to increased damage or their power is prevented from working due to item effects. Such as the Steel Shield preventing corrosion caused by monsters or a Dragon Shield halving fire damage from Green Dragons. This adds a level of sophistication to combat, requiring players to keep several weapons and shields.
