Monsters in Torneko's Great Adventure: Mystery Dungeon are the same monsters found in the Dragon Quest series; up to Dragon Quest Ⅳ: Chapters of the Chosen. Some gameplay elements for monsters in this game were shared to the following game, Mystery Dungeon 2: Shiren the Wanderer, such as special abilities.
