The port Shiren the Wanderer 5 Plus: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate added numerous updates and content that are not present in the original Nintendo DS game.

General

• The game is available in English and in multiple languages only in the PlayStation Vita, Nintendo Switch and Microsoft Windows version of Shiren the Wanderer 5 Plus, making it the third game to be available in English after Shiren the Wanderer DS and Shiren the Wanderer 3: The Sleeping Princess of the Karakuri Mansion.
  • Exclusive to the Nintendo Switch and Microsoft Windows ports is the possibility to play in either simplified and traditional Chinese.

Trophies

• The PlayStation Vita version of Shiren the Wanderer 5 Plus added PlayStation Trophy support and the Microsoft Windows version supports Achievements.

Dungeons

• The following dungeons have been added to Shiren 5 Plus.
  • Merchant's Hideout (Japanese: 商人の隠れ家)
  • Warning Valley (Japanese: 警告の谷)
  • Page of Youth (Japanese: 青春の1ページ)
  • Hunter Pond (Japanese: ハンターの池)
  • Rousing Paradise (Japanese: わくわくパラダイス)
  • Aksys Challenge (Japanese: ファミ通の挑戦状)

Via Wi-Fi patches

• The following dungeons were added via downloadable patches only in the Japanese version of Shiren 5 Plus's post-release. They are all present in the English version without needing to download an update of any sort. They will be available immediately in the Nintendo Switch and Microsoft Windows ports of the game as well.

1. Froggo's Fury (Japanese: ガマラの逆襲) added via a patch on June 11, 2015.
2. Master's Footprint (Japanese: 玄人の足跡) added via a patch on July 9, 2015.
3. Aura Ruins(Japanese: オーラの遺跡) added via a patch on August 6, 2015.
4. Double Strike Trail (Japanese: 二撃の道) added via a patch on August 6, 2015.
5. Sleeping Lands (Japanese: 眠りの大地) added via a patch on August 6, 2015.
6. Storm Forest (Japanese: あらしの森) added via a patch on September 10, 2015.
7. Gorger's Manor (Japanese: 食いしん坊の館) added via a patch on September 10, 2015.
8. Monster Hotspot (Japanese: モンスター集会所) added via a patch on October 8, 2015.
9. Perilous Rocks (Japanese: 波乱の岩場) added via a patch on December 1, 2015.
10. Trapper's Sandbox (Japanese: ワナ師の箱庭) added via a patch on December 1, 2015.

Nintendo Switch and Microsoft Windows

• Three new dungeon will be added to the port of Shiren 5 Plus on Nintendo Switch and Microsoft Windows.

1. Corridor of Life and Death (Japanese: 死線の回廊) – Set your own target turn before entering. When that turn comes, a gust of wind will blow and result in failure.
2. Garden of the Fate God (Japanese: 運命神の裏庭) – Playable after clearing the game. Earned experience points decreases based on number of attacks and increases with one-shot kills.
3. Bladeless Wasteland (Japanese: 無刃の荒野) – No weapon drops.

Miscellaneous

• The game is displayed in 16:9.
• The game runs with a screen resolution of 544p for the PlayStation Vita and 720p for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite.

PlayStation Vita

• Exclusive to the Japanese copies of Shiren 5 Plus is a limited Jar that would supposedly allow you to listen to a message from the editor of Weekly Famitsu when Pressed.

Nintendo Switch and Microsoft Windows

• Live Exploration Display: A new feature that displays the player’s belongings, status, and other information in an inverted L-shaped area created by slightly downscaling the game screen to the upper left. It can be turned on or off at any time. This feature is convenient for “Let’s Play” videos.
• Once heard, background music is registered to a guide and can be replayed at any time.
• The Wanderer Rescue is now supported worldwide.
  • You can also limit requests to players of the same language.

Returning from past games

Few new content added for the ports were originating from other Mystery Dungeon titles.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky

• It is now possible to collect the soundtrack and to listen to them in the options in the Nintendo Switch and Microsoft Windows ports, similarly to the Sky Jukebox.

Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer 4: The Eye of God and the Devil's Navel

• The dungeon Double Strike Trail has a game feature returning from this game.
