Template:Infobox Armbands (Shiren 1) The Armband of Calm (Japanese: 混乱よけの腕輪) is an Armband introduced in the Super Famicom release of Shiren 1. Wearing this armband will prevent Shiren from being inflicted with the 'Confused' status.
An Armband of Calm will protect Shiren from all causes of confusion:
- Triggering Spinning Traps.
- Eating Herbs of Confusion or when they are thrown at Shiren by Daze Radishes.
- The confusion effect from eating a Rotten Riceballs.
- The confusion causing magic ability of Skull Wizards and Skull Wraiths.
The effect of an equipped Armband of Calm will not apply while Shiren is a monster, or inflicted with the 'Riceball' status.
An Armband of Calm can prevent the player from initially becoming confused, but will not cure this status if equipped while confused.
The effect of an Armband of Calm is included in several "rescue reward" armbands: the Alertness Armband, the Clear Armband, and the Warding Armband.
Tips for use
- With an Armband of Calm equipped, Herbs of Confusion without becoming confused and can be used as a safe food source.
- Equip an Armband of Calm while fighting Daze Raishes to avoid confusion, which will also prevent the monster from throwing Poison Herbs.
