Onigiri (Japanese: おにぎり) is an edible item that appears in Shiren the Wanderer 5 and 5 Plus. There are nine variants of them in total.

Summary

Onigiri (rice balls) are the primary source of food in Shiren 5, though Peaches also restore a large amount of fullness and Grasses restore a small amount of fullness. Unlike Peaches, Onigiri don't ripen or rot naturally, and they will last indefinitely if left unaffected. Except for Silver and Gold Onigiri, any Onigiri kept in main inventory will turn into Rotten Onigiri if you step on a Decay Trap, and they will turn into Grilled Onigiri if you take any fire or explosion damage from a monster or trap. These effects can be avoided by keeping Onigiri in pots.

It can be a good idea to deliberately take fire damage to convert Onigiri items into Grilled Onigiri, either for healing or as a way to recover a Rotten Onigiri. Note that Onigiri at your feet will not become Grilled Onigiri if you are affected by fire or explosion. The rare Grilling Pot can also be used to make Grilled Onigiri.
