Special Bug Repellent is a Post-Credits Template:Shiren3 in Template:Shiren3 given by Template:Shiren3. Starting this quest enables access to Template:Shiren3.

Template:Shiren3

In the Elder's House (the easternmost house in the village), Tonjiro wants to know the secret of the Karakuri Mansion, which Template:Shiren3 can only tell him after completing the main story. He then asks if you know the ingredients to Template:Shiren3's special bug repellent; by saying you don't know, he'll tell you the ingredients: Template:Shiren3, Template:Shiren3, and Template:Shiren3 Template:Shiren3, combined with Granny's spit. Template:Shiren3 will then unlock north of the Template:Shiren3 on the world map.

The quickest method to completing this quest involves retaining a Template:Shiren3 from Bufu Cave, then entering the Rank V tournament of the Template:Shiren3 after finishing the Template:Shiren3; a Daze Radish, a Splitter, and a Dark Komuso are part of separate preset battles in that tournament, and the Bufu's Staff guarantees their meats. If your Bufu's Staff doesn't have enough charges, simply offer it to a Template:Shiren3 in floor 1 of Template:Shiren3.

Bringing these 3 meats to Granny Osen in the house directly south of the village entrance will reward you with the Insect Ward after walking out of the village and reentering. (If you talk to Granny Osen with only 1 or 2 of the meats in your inventory, she'll assume you're giving those meats as gifts to her and will simply take them outright, which won't progress the quest.) After obtaining the Insect Ward, interact with the village well to travel to the past and hand it to Template:Shiren3 in front of the tree, then return to the current time and talk to Template:Shiren3 in front of the now-thousand-year-old tree. With the Insect Ward, Nisaku managed to protect the tree from the bugs that damaged it in the original timeline, allowing it to stand strong in the present. Yosaku will give you a Template:Shiren3 and the Template:Shiren3. Finishing this quest is one of the requirements to unlock the Template:Shiren3.

Rewards

Along with being able to obtain one Millennium Pill at a time, clearing this quest also rewards you with a Template:Shiren3 of the "Bunny Girl", Template:Shiren3.
