Rescues, first introduced in the original GBC release of Magic Caste of the Desert, due to their popularity ChunSoft brought them back in most future games in some way that usually functions via local wireless, passwords, or the internet. For the most part, their functionality and purpose have changed very little and are often found to be exploited by fans in both the English and Japanese communities.
