Tactics (Japanese: ???) are a game mechanic in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky that changes the way party members other than the leader behave inside a dungeon. The player can change a Pokémon's tactic by opening the menu with X while inside a dungeon. Some Tactics are unlocked at a certain level.

Avoid the first hit | The Pokémon will try to avoid being attacked first. If an enemy comes close, however, the Pokémon will attack. | Available at the start | |
Wait there | The Pokémon will not move. | 10 | |
Get away from here | The Pokémon becomes afflicted with a Terrified status. It will flee from enemies and friends, and it can't use items while fleeing. | 15 | |
You go the other way | The Pokémon will go its own way, no matter where the leader goes. | 20 | |
Be patient | The Pokémon will stop moving if its HP gets low. | 30 | |
