== General Information ==
'''Peaches''' {{JA|普通の仙桃||}} are edible items that appear in ''Shiren the Wanderer 5''. There are four variants of them in total.

Peaches are another major form of food in Shiren 5.  (Onigiri are a primary source of food, and eating Grasses also restores a small amount of fullness.)  Peaches ripen and rot naturally, from Hard Peach -> Peach -> Juicy Peach -> Rotten Peach.  Working theory is that Peaches can only transform to the next form in the chain when you change floors, and only when they are in main inventory, and they only have a 33-50% chance to do so every time you change floors.  (Needs confirmation.)  Rotten Peaches do not transform into any other item, no matter how many times you change floors.  Unlike Rotten Onigiri, there is no known way to "recover" a Rotten Peach into a more useful form.

The three earlier forms of Peaches all have excellent, useful magic effects.  The food value and magic effects get stronger and rarer as it ripens to a Juicy Peach, but the player may prefer the benefits of earlier forms. (For example, aside from a Juicy Peach, there is only one known way to get something like Enduring status, which is via a possible random effect on a secret pot / new item bracelet, and that effect is not guaranteed to trigger either. That being said, the player may prefer the earlier form of the Peach, even though it has less food value, as the magic effects of the Peach may be more useful in the current situation.)

A Peach keeps its modifier status as it ripens / rots.

Players may want to carry "lesser" forms of Peaches around in their main inventory to let them ripen to the desired form, then store them in pots such as a Preservation Pot for later use.  If you do this, double check your main inventory before changing floors to make sure you aren't risking the loss of a Juicy Peach. Note also that being affected by a Decay Trap will turn all types of Peaches in main inventory into Rotten Peaches.
Hard Peach, Peach and Juicy Peach have useful magic effects. The nutrition value and price increase as the peach ripens, but there are situations where an earlier form may be preferred for its magical effect.

Peaches are even more useful at night. Per the descriptions of the items, they all restore some night abilities.  It has not yet been documented precisely how this works. (Does each type of Peach restore a fixed number of abilities chosen at random, or do they just have a percentage chance to restore any given used night ability?)  Working theory is that Juicy Peaches, Peaches, Hard Peaches, and Rotten Peaches have a 100%, 75%, 50%, and 25% chance to restore each used night ability respectively, but this definitely needs more testing.

* Peach removes all your status ailments and restores your strength to the maximum. A blessed Peach also gives you Immune status, which prevents all status ailments on this floor.
* Juicy Peach gives you Enduring {{Shiren52020|Status Abnormality|status}}, which lets you survive a fatal hit at 1 HP.

Peaches (Japanese: 普通の仙桃) are edible items that appear in Shiren the Wanderer 5. There are four variants of them in total.

Peaches are food items that replenish your fullness and give you an effect. They are a main source of nutrition alongside Onigiri. Peaches ripen and rot naturally, from Hard Peach to Peach, to Juicy Peach, and finally to Rotten Peach. Peaches only turn into the next form when you change floors, and only when they are in the main inventory. (chance of ripening / rotting is 33-50%? [Data needed]) Unlike Rotten Onigiri, there is no way to recover a Rotten Peach into a more useful form. A Peach keeps its modifier status as it ripens / rots.

Hard Peach, Peach and Juicy Peach have useful magic effects. The nutrition value and price increase as the peach ripens, but there are situations where an earlier form may be preferred for its magical effect.

  • Hard Peach gives you Bolstered status, which increases your defense while on the current floor.
  • Peach removes all your status ailments and restores your strength to the maximum. A blessed Peach also gives you Immune status, which prevents all status ailments on this floor.
  • Juicy Peach gives you Enduring status, which lets you survive a fatal hit at 1 HP.

Once a peach is in a desired form, it can be stored in a Preservation Pot for later use. Store any Juicy Peaches before changing floors, since there is a chance they will rot. Stepping on a Decay Trap will turn all types of Peaches in the main inventory into Rotten Peaches.

Peaches also restore night abilities, though the specific chance or number of abilities restored by each form is unknown. (research?)
