This page covers updates and changes present in Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate, as well as additional content that are not present in the PlayStation Vita remaster.

Languages

• The game now supports both Simplified and Traditional Chinese. As such, this game marks the first in the Shiren the Wanderer series to support an official Chinese translation.

Achievements

• The Steam version supports Achievements and has the same achievements as the PlayStation Vita's trophies.

Dungeons

• The following dungeons have been added to the port of Shiren the Wanderer 5 Plus.

1. Cloister of Certain Doom (Japanese: 死線の回廊) – Set your own turns before entering. When that turn comes, a gust of wind will blow and result in failure.
2. Garden of Destiny (Japanese: 運命神の裏庭) – Playable after clearing the game. Earned experience points decrease based on the number of attacks and increase with one-shot kills.
3. Bladeless Wasteland (Japanese: 無刃の荒野) – No weapon drops. Use any items to defeat the surrounding monsters. It is unlocked after completing the main story.

• Content referencing Famitsu in the Japanese version, or Aksys in the English version, were either removed or replaced by content from Spike Chunsoft.
  • The bonus dungeon "Aksys Challenge", or "Famitsu Challenge" in Japan, has been renamed to "The Pinnacle".
• The DLC dungeons for the Japanese release are now available by default, like in the English Vita release.

Gameplay

• Live Exploration Display: A new feature that displays the player's belongings, status, and other information in an inverted L-shaped area created by slightly downscaling the game screen to the upper left. It can be turned on or off at any time. This feature is convenient for "Let's Play" videos and live streams.
• Music Collection: When a soundtrack is heard for the first time, they are registered to the Book and can be replayed at any time.
  • Thanks to this addition, new official titles and their origins were attributed to the tracks.
• You can now have Jirokichi as an ally after clearing the main story.
• From the DS version, most of the items that were limited to 7 types of cat stones are now available in the new dungeons.

Online

• The Wanderer Rescue is now supported worldwide.
  • You can also limit requests to players of the same language.
  • The Wanderer Rescue is only compatible between the Nintendo Switch and Steam versions. It was later updated in 2022 to include the game's Smartphone port.
• Co-operation and competitive dungeons are no longer available.

Meta

• The game is displayed in 16:9.
• The Status Display can be tweaked between "Modern" and "Classic". The latter hide details from the Hunger Bar, HP Bar and Experience bar.
• A new message window frame has been added.
• Text size can be changed between small and large.
• The game can be monetized on media platforms (YouTube, Twitch, etc...).
• Decreased the number of items required in some Adventure Footprints from 64 to 37.

Content added from older Mystery Dungeon titles.

 Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky

• It is now possible to collect the soundtrack and to listen to them in the options in this port, similarly to the Sky Jukebox.

Updates

There are four updates in total for the game, in the span of one year. The latest update available for the game is version 1.0.4.
