Normally, {{ShirenPC|SatellaviewShiren}} is vulnerable to traps while {{SatellaviewShiren|monsters}} can walk over them without tripping them. However, if Shiren wears a {{SatellaviewShiren|Trapper Bracer}}, the reverse is true. Shiren will be able to see traps and avoid them, and monsters will be affected by traps, although Shiren and monsters can be affected in slightly different ways by some traps (see table below). Shiren will also be able to pick up, place, throw, and trigger traps.
Normally, {{SaveSurala|Shiren}} is vulnerable to traps while {{SaveSurala|monster}}s can walk over them without tripping them. If Shiren has been transformed into a {{SaveSurala|Mecharoid}} monster, he will also not be vulnerable to traps but other monsters will be vulnerable.

If Shiren has been transformed into a {{SatellaviewShiren|Karakuroid}} monster, he will also not be vulnerable to traps but other monsters will be vulnerable. If Shiren has traps in his inventory but is not wearing a Trapper Bracer, they will become {{SatellaviewShiren|Broken Traps}} when leaving the floor. Broken Traps have no use.

Traps (Japanese: ワナ) and floor tiles can be found on floor tiles in dungeons and cause various effects when tripped in Super Famicom BS Shiren the Wanderer: Save Surala(UT) - This is an unofficial translation.. They cannot be seen unless stepping on them, attacking the tile they're hidden on or eating a Herb of Sight.

Normally, Shiren is vulnerable to traps while monsters can walk over them without tripping them. If Shiren has been transformed into a Mecharoid monster, he will also not be vulnerable to traps but other monsters will be vulnerable.
