Defense Power (Japanese: ???) is a stat in Super Famicom Torneko's Great Adventure: Mystery Dungeon(UT) - This is an unofficial translation. used in the calculation of Damage. Torneko and Monsters have Defense Power stats. Defense Power is determined by Torneko's equipement and the type of the monster.

Torneko Defense Power

Torneko's Defense Power is equal to the Shield Strength of the Shield he's currently equipped with. The higher his Defense Power is, the less damage he will take from monsters and Traps.

Shield Strength

Shield Strength is a value tied to each shields. Shields have a default Shield Strength tied to their type and can randomly spawn with modifiers of -1, +1, +2 and +3. Upper Scrolls can also increase this modifier up to +99 and shields can be Rusted down to -30, though Shield Strength can't go lower than 0. Overall Shield Strength can range between 0 - 109.
