General Information
Title screen icons have been a gameplay element of the Shiren series since the original release of Shiren 1 for the Super Famicom. They denote the completion of certain achievements in the game.
The original Japanese release of Shiren 5 on the Nintendo DS has 21 title screen icons, displayed in 3 rows of 7. In the English version of the game on the PSVita, the icons are in the same order, but displayed in 2 rows of 11. This may simply be the most convenient layout for the icons given the different aspect ratios of each of the devices' screens.
