Stones (Japanese: ) are projectile items that appears in Shiren the Wanderer 5 and 5 Plus. There are four variants of them in total.

Summary

Stones/rocks are stackable projectiles that travel only 3 tiles instead of the usual 10, which makes them great choices to throw onto traps e.g. to farm arrows. If there's a monster less than 3 tiles away, you'll only throw them as far as the monster. They also do fixed damage rather than variable damage based on your level/strength, which makes them particularly useful if you would ordinarily do low damage. For example, they're great at killing high level Mamels in one shot, when they would normally take only 1 damage per hit. If you have no worse items to use, they're cheap and common enough to be useful fodder to insert into various pots to trigger their magic effects. Like all other stackable projectiles (arrows and talismans), stones have no "instance modifiers"; every stone of a certain type is identical to every other stone of that type and thus they can always stack together. In particular, stones can never be blessed, cursed, or sealed, and are always fully identified. Also like other projectiles, they always fire forward, which make them a great fallback when Shiren is confused.

List of Stones

Here are all the items in this category, in Item Book order:

Stones
Shops In-Game Description Usage Tips Finding Tips Additional Notes
English Japanese Cost Value
Rock 20 7 Hurl this in an arc to do a minor amount of damage. It has a max range of 3 spaces.
Porky Rock デブータの石 60 21 Throw this and it will fly in an arc and home in on a monster in front of you to deal damage. It has a max range of 3 spaces. Also, these will actually curve towards monsters even if they aren't in a straight line, making this the only known item in the game that can be thrown at a monster when it's not in a straight line. (David's Bullets are not well tested.)
Rightstone 20 7 Hurl this in an arc at a monster to the right and deal minor damage. It has a max range of 3 spaces. No matter which way you try to throw these, they will always travel to the right of Shiren. If you miss your target, they disappear, so there is no known way to split a stack of Righstones. These are particularly worthless and thus good choices for fodder to insert into pots to trigger their magic effects.
David's Bullet 王闘児ダマ 200 70 Chuck this and it'll fly through the air in an arc at a monster in front of you. If it hits, it's an instant kill. It has a max range of 3 spaces. See Inori Cave location page.
