Experience Points (Japanese: 経験値) are a stat in Super Famicom Torneko's Great Adventure: Mystery Dungeon(UT) - This is an unofficial translation.. Torneko gains Experience Points by defeating monsters or by eating a Joy Seed. Reaching a certain amount of Experience Points furthers Torneko's level according to his stats table.

Items that affect Experience Points

There is only one item that affects Torneko's Experience Points in the game, the Joy Seed.

Sprite Item Effect

Torneko 1 - Herb.png Joy Seed 幸せの種 Increases by 1 Torneko's level if he eats it,
increasing the Experience Points accordingly.

Experience Breakdown by Monster

All monsters encountered in dungeons will award Experience Points after they are defeated by Torneko. However Bomb Crag blowing up and monsters blown up by Bomb Crags or Mine Traps(UT) - This is an unofficial translation. do not yield any experience.

The Metabble gives 500 Experience Points early in the Dungeons, but is also the rarest and toughest of them all as they have a very low chance of appearing, move at Double Speed and have a ridiculous amount of Defense Points despite having less HP than a Slime. Alternatively, you can kill a Dragon, which gives the most amount of Experience, at 3,000, but is also hard to defeat and appears much later in the dungeons.

Monsters can gain Experience Points and level up when defeating other monsters. This can happen by accident when Arrows or Dragon's fires aimed at Torneko hit monsters on the way, and when under the effect of the Confused or Blind status. A monster that killed another monster will yield their normal Experience Points plus the Experience Points of the monster they defeated. For example a Dragon that killed another Dragon will yield 6,000 Experience Points on death.
