Japanese Name: 夢中の小道

English Name: Trance Dungeon.

Reward: Borg Mamel as a party member.

Properties:

- Day and Night changes every 70 turns. All monsters will be respawned with the change, so you must be careful with skills.

- There are some special item generation: All scrolls found in this dungeon will be Blank ones, except those found in monster houses, which will always be Light Scrolls.

- The devil family (strong monsters that appear when you camp for long time in a floor) will appear soon in this dungeon. Be careful with these, specially at night (use a light scroll if you plan to camp in a floor, so you can see them coming).

- Herbs and talismans are identified, but you need to identity Jars, Staves and Armbands.

Strategy: This is a dungeon with medium difficulty. If you follow these steps, you won't have many problems to reach the end.

- Selected skills: 3 おいでよ混乱破 (Come confused), 3 ルームサイクロン (Room Cyclone) and 2 of 3匹うぎゃあ破 (3 destroyer) or 2 ダダーン弾 (Dadan Bullet).

- The first 5 floors are vital to build your equipment. In 1-3F there are night double speed bees, and in 3-5F there are Night Walrus. In the first floor, find a Blank Scroll and write the Removal spell on it (ねだやし). After that, throw it to the Bird like monster (タネッコ, if you want to check the bestiary). If done correctly, at day you will only see mamels, and at night you will only see those double speed bees that always drop items when defeated. Use the おいでよ混乱破 (Come confused) to bring all those bees near you in confused status, and then use the Room Cyclone. If you are lucky, they will be in the right place and will heal some of your skills (do this near the walls to have a higher chance). Start to collect items!

1) Select your main weapon and Shield. It's highly recommended you choose a Cudgel/Palm Shield or a Bronze Sword/shield. Why? Because they level up quickly, meaning they will raise their maximum enchantment soon. Plus, you can equip 2 armbands. Very handy!

2) Collect all the swords and shields with bonus, and those with special properties you want (like the blast shield, Lizard shield, etc).

3) Identity all Jars. If you find a Melding Jar, use it to make your equipment stronger!! Remember you can use Blank scrolls to enlarge the Jar and to withdraw the items without breaking the Jar. If you find an identity Jar, use it to identify armbands. Save all Jars of Holding to wear the extra swords and shields until you reach 12F.

4) Use the blessed blank scrolls to raise your weapons/shields by transforming into earth and air bless scrolls. Plate your main weapon and shield, too!

5) If you find a Happiness staff, use it with the mamels to obtain Gitan Mamels. You will get lots of experience and your weapons will be raised to the next level! To not suffer damage from Gitan Mamels, use one of your blank Scrolls as a Sanctuary one (this works too with the devil family).

6) Try to find a "See monsters" armband. If you find one, you can avoid monsters at night (specially the devil ones) and you won't waste skills.

- After the first 5 floors, go quickly to the next floors until you reach 12F. From 12 to 14F, you will see the melding monster at day. Use it to meld all your weapons/shields with bonuses or with the properties you want to get. You should be very powerful right now. 2nd level Melding monster will appear from 27 to 29F too.

- There are Game Corners in this dungeon. You can find very special weapons, shields and armbands in here. Do the Game Corner trick (see the Shiren 4 thread) and try to obtain the Antigaze Shield and the Prism Shield, which are very important for the lattest floors. The armband of sight is also handy.

- Finally, It's highly suggested you eliminate the most dangerous monsters from that dungeon: the tanks, by using the Scroll of Removal. The level 4 one appear at night in the lattest floors, and can ruin your run with its double speed and double attack, that does 60 fixed damage (30 with the blast shield). Level 1 Tanks start to appear in 8F at night.
