Stones (Japanese: 石) are projectile items that appears in Shiren the Wanderer 5 and 5 Plus. There are four variants of them in total.
Stones, or rocks, are stackable projectiles that travel 3 tiles, or until they hit a monster. Stones do fixed damage, bypassing your level, your strength, and the monster's defense.
Stones cannot have modifiers and will always stack with stones of the same type, up to a limit of 99. Stones always fire forward, even if Shiren is confused or afraid.
Stones can be used to trigger traps. A good use of this is to farm arrows from an Arrow Trap. Stones are also useful for killing Cave Mamels and Gitan Mamels, as one of the few ways to deal more than 1 damage to them. Stones can also be used as fodder to insert into various pots to trigger their magic effects. To split a stack of stones, throw a stone and move onto the tile containing the stone while holding the run button. Then you can insert the stone at your feet into the pot.
