Riceballs or otherwise known as Onigiri are the primary food source to restore Shiren's fullness throughout the Shiren the Wanderer games. They can be found in dungeons on the ground, dropped from monsters and purchased in shops. Monsters from the Rice family, Rice Changer and above can turn items and even Shiren into riceballs. Riceballs can be used as a one hit kill against any monster in the Rice family, as long as it's not cursed. Riceballs will not go bad under normal circumstances but can become rotten from traps, monster attacks or being submerged in water. Untainted riceballs can be melded onto a sword or shield for beneficial effects while rotten riceballs can be melded for negative effects. If you take fire or explosion damage from a monster, trap or a cannonball, any riceball will turn into a toasted riceball and offer beneficial health effects. It's always suggested to only keep regular riceballs outside of jars for this purpose and promptly put into one to prevent a rotten trap from destroying them. Rotten riceballs when consumed will only restore a small amount of fullness and have a negative effect on Shiren's health. Eating riceballls while already full will increase Shiren's fullness to a max of 200.

Monsters from the Rice family, Rice Changer and above can turn items and even the player characters into riceballs. Rotten riceballs when consumed will only restore a small amount of fullness and have a negative effect on the characters health. Eating riceballs while already full will increase the characters fullness to a max of 200.
