General Information

Special Enemies in Shiren the Wanderer DS are entities that engage in combat with the player, but are encountered in special situations, other than regular Monsters. Special Enemies cannot be turned into Monster Meat and a Bufu's Staff has no effect on them.

Shop-Based Monsters

Shopkeepers:

Sheriffs:

Guard Dogs: Shopkeepers do not attack Shiren at first, and can even be talked to by the player, providing a vital service in Shops. However, dealing damage to one or leaving a Shop's boundaries without paying for items will turn them hostile, where they will follow and attack Shiren.

When leaving the boundaries of a Shop with unpaid items, and being labelled as a thief (See: Thievery), Sheriffs and Guard Dogs will spawn in large numbers on the floor or in the town. These strong entities cannot be talked to and will hunt down the player.
