The Nintendo 64 is a region-locked console, and as such, only Japanese consoles can play Shiren 2. Luckily for players, the region lock is physical, and as such, it can be easily bypassed. Players tend to take three approaches to make their consoles region-free: cutting the cartridge slot's original plastic, removing it outright, or installing a 3D-printed replacement part.
