Level 4: Gitan Mamels have exceedingly high defense, despite only having 6 HP, even a hit from a +119 strength Sword only does 1 damage, meaning multiple hits will be necessary to defeat them. They also have high attack and move at double speed, so fighting them from afar may be a good option using Staves, Arrows, Monster Meat etc., though they will be quick to close the distance between then and Shiren. If a Spiked Ward ability is not available, a strong shield is highly recommended to endure any accidental hits. As with a Cave Mamel, a Poison Herb that successfully hits a Gitan Mamel will deal 5 of the 6 required damage to defeat it while also lowering it's Strength.

Level 4: Because Gitan Mamel's move at double speed, this can be taken advantage of to escape from enemies, or to have a speed advantage while fighting. Consuming Gitan Mamel Meat may be considered a waste as the 2,000 Gitan that would normally drop on that monster's defeat, will not drop when it is Shiren that was transformed. This meat and the Gitans it provides can be semi-effectively farmed using a Pitcher's Armband and a Bufu's Staff, a sword with this ability is also adequate, but caution should be taken as Gitan Mamels are prone to 1-hit KO low level players without proper protection.

Monster Meat Description
The Mamel monster family (Japanese: マムル系) consists of:

 1. Mamel (Japanese: マムル)
 2. Pit Mamel (Japanese: あなぐらマムル)
 3. Cave Mamel (Japanese: 洞窟マムル)
 4. Gitan Mamel (Japanese: ギタンマムル)

Ah, the humble Mamel, likely the first monster players run into on their Shiren adventures. These monsters have a smooth spherical body, and a white widening tail, belly and cat ears. With a slightly agape mouth showing a pink or blue tongue and wide eyes, the color of the monster's back depends on the level:

 • 1-sky blue,
 • 2-olive green
 • 3-red
 • 4-yellow. At level 4, the Gitan Mamel has a few differences to Mamel Family monsters levels 1-3, it has a slightly yellow belly, tail and ears, and unlike levels 1-3, has a blue tongue. Gitan Mamels also move at double speed, have very high defense, and will always drop 2,000 Gitan on defeat.

Combat Strategy

Levels 1-3: A generally weak monster with no special abilities to be cautious of. Mamels and Pit Mamels can easily be defeated even without any equipment. Cave Mamels can pose more of a threat, with a higher attack (~35-40 damage with no shield equipped), but this should be expected of a level 3 monster. Nonetheless, it is best to have a strong shield to endure any unexpectedly high attacks. A Spiked Ward or a shield with such ability can easily reflect enough damage to defeat a Cave Mamel. A Poison Herb can be thrown at a Cave Mamel, and if it successfully hits, will inflict 5 damage, which is enough to defeat it.

Or, if desired, Monster Meat of a weak monster can be thrown to transform it into a more easily defeated form. A Spiked Ward can easily reflect a Gitan Mamel's damage and defeat it after one attack, as long as Shiren survives. If a Spiked Ward ability is not available, a strong shield is highly recommended to endure any accidental hits. As with a Cave Mamel, a Poison Herb that successfully hits a Gitan Mamel will deal 5 of the 6 required damage to defeat it while also lowering its Strength.

Meat Strategy

Levels 1-3: With no special abilities, there is no specific benefit to consuming Mamel Family Monster Meat. Instead, low level monster meat can be thrown to transform other monsters into a more easily defeated form, However, there is a chance that the Meat will miss, so it is best to do this at a distance and/or not to rely on it. There are some benefits to consuming any monster meat in general:

 • Eating any Monster Meat will increase fullness by 10 points.
 • As a monster, items in Shiren's inventory cannot be accessed and therefore items cannot be: equipped, unequipped, put down, thrown, eaten, dropped, fired, inserted or removed from Jars and jars also cannot be pressed.
 • However, Items and Gitan can still be stolen by Thief-type monsters, items can still be made to Rust, become Cursed, be turned into Big Riceballs, become Electrified, be changed into Weeds or be knocked away.
 • While transformed and after reverting, regardless if they are beneficial or detrimental, the following status effects will be removed: Hands full, No Natural Recovery, Hit Point Drain, Clear Sighted, Enhanced, Invincible, Slow, Immobilized, Puzzled, Sealed, Confused, Double Speed.

This meat and the Gitan it provides can be semi-effectively farmed using a Pitcher's Armband and a Bufu's Staff, a sword with this ability is also adequate, but caution should be taken as Gitan Mamels are prone to 1-hit KO low level players without proper protection.

(states pages or items/monsters that caused the condition for links?) silence possibly, need to be turned into a monster by a wizard after being silenced. sleep-nope, cannot control anything, hypnotised - cannot control, riceball- of course you'd want to revert like this but can't. paralysed - cant control, kigny - cant control,
