Herbs have always existed in the Shiren the Wanderer series. Sometimes referred to as grasses or seeds, they're essentially the same thing and all share a dungeon and inventory sprite. They are multi use items that will restore 5 fullness points upon consumption. Even seemingly worthless or dangerous herbs can still have a use. A herb of confusion thrown at an enemy will confuse them. When you eat a dragon herb, Shiren will breathe fire like a dragon dealing damage to any enemy or even allies in his path. Weeds obtained from the intended use of a Revival herb even have a couple different uses. Besides partially satisfying Shiren's fullness, they can be inserted into a Money Jar, a Jar of Change to potentially become something valuable, thrown at an enemy to deal a small amount of damage or sold to a shop for a small amount of Gitans. Cursed herbs can no longer be use and Herb Hater monsters can prevent Shiren from even using them until the monster is killed.

Herbs (Japanese: ???) have always existed in the Shiren the Wanderer series.
